Pulse Jet Baghouse
A pulse jet baghouse(also called pulse jet dust collector)is a high‑efficiency,dry‑type industrial filtration system that removes particulate matter from dust‑laden gas using fabric filter bags and compressed‑air pulse cleaning.Invented by MikroPul in the 1950s,it has become the most widely used dust collection solution in modern industry due to its high efficiency,continuous operation,and compact design.
Working Principle
The system operates in a continuous filtration–pulse cleaning–dust discharge cycle:
Filtration
Dust‑laden gas enters the hopper/inlet chamber.Large,heavy dust falls into the hopper by gravity;fine dust rises and is captured on the outside surface of filter bags supported by metal cages.Clean air passes through the fabric into the upper clean‑air chamber and exits via an exhaust fan.
Pulse Jet Cleaning
As dust builds up,pressure drop rises.The PLC control system triggers diaphragm valves to release short(≈0.1 s),high‑pressure(0.4–0.6 MPa)compressed‑air pulses through blowpipes and nozzles into the bags.The sudden air burst inflates the bags,flexing the fabric and dislodging the dust cake,which falls into the hopper.Cleaning occurs online(no shutdown needed).
Dust Discharge
Collected dust in the hopper is periodically discharged via a rotary airlock valve or screw conveyor for disposal or recycling.

Filter Bags:Fabric media(polyester,PPS,PTFE,aramid)selected for temperature,moisture,and chemical resistance.
Metal Cages:Support bags to prevent collapse during filtration.

Control Unit:PLC with differential pressure sensors and timers for automatic cleaning.
