Baghouse Filter Cage
A baghouse filter cage(also called filter bag cage,baghouse cage,or filter bag frame)is a critical structural component installed inside filter bags in pulse-jet baghouse dust collectors.It supports the filter bags to maintain shape,prevent collapse under negative pressure or airflow,and ensure consistent filtration efficiency and cleaning performance.
1.Basic Structure
Welded from metal wires into a rigid,cage-like frame,typically composed of:
Top cap/ring:Seals and hangs the cage on the tube sheet;some with venturi for better pulse cleaning.
Vertical wires(stringers):Main supporting ribs(8–24 wires,common:10/12/20).
Horizontal support rings:Spaced 4”/6”/8”(100/150/200mm)to reinforce rigidity.
Bottom cap/ring:Protects the bag bottom and stabilizes the cage.
2.Common Materials&Coatings
Selected based on flue gas temperature,moisture,and corrosiveness:
Galvanized carbon steel:Standard for dry,non-corrosive conditions(cost-effective).
304/316 stainless steel:For high-temperature,humid,or corrosive environments(food/pharmaceutical/chemical).
Carbon steel with coatings:Epoxy/silicone/PTFE/PVC coating for acid/alkali resistance and high-temperature stability.
Titanium/Inconel:For extreme high-temperature or highly corrosive industrial applications.
3.Shapes&Dimensions
Shapes:
Round:Most common,uniform support for standard cylindrical bags.
Oval:Larger filtration area in limited space.
Star/pleated:Reduces bag-to-cage friction,increases filtration area.
Diamond/rectangle:Custom for special bag designs.
Sizes:
Diameter:80–200mm(4”–8”).
Length:1.8–6m(6’–20’);long bags use two-piece cages for easy installation.
Wire diameter:3.0–5.0mm.
