Pneumatic Ventilation Butterfly Valve
A pneumatic ventilation butterfly valve is a high-efficiency,quarter-turn control valve that combines a ventilation butterfly valve with a pneumatic actuator,specifically designed for on/off and modulating control of airflow,dust-laden gas,flue gas,and hot air in HVAC systems,industrial ventilation,and environmental protection projects.It relies on compressed air as the power source to drive the valve disc rotation,achieving rapid and stable airflow regulation,which is widely used in scenarios requiring automatic and continuous control.
In terms of construction,the valve consists of four core components:valve body,butterfly disc,pneumatic actuator,and seal.The valve body is usually made of carbon steel,stainless steel,or ductile iron,with a compact wafer or flanged design that is easy to install in narrow ducts.The butterfly disc is a flat or contoured steel plate,available in centerline or eccentric design,which rotates 90 degrees to control flow.The pneumatic actuator,the power core,is divided into single-acting(spring return)and double-acting types;single-acting actuators can automatically return to the safe position when air supply is cut off,ensuring system safety.
The working principle is simple and efficient:the pneumatic actuator receives signals from the control system to drive the valve stem and butterfly disc to rotate.When fully open,the disc is parallel to the airflow,minimizing pressure drop and allowing maximum airflow;when fully closed,the disc is perpendicular to the airflow,achieving low-leakage shutoff.For modulating control,the disc rotates at any angle between 0-90 degrees,precisely adjusting airflow volume to meet the system’s dynamic requirements.
Key features include fast response,with opening and closing times of 1-3 seconds,suitable for emergency control;low pressure drop,optimizing energy consumption of fans;bidirectional flow,allowing installation in any orientation without flow direction restrictions;and good temperature resistance,with standard models applicable to-20°C to 300°C,and high-temperature models up to 600°C for flue gas applications.It also has low maintenance requirements due to few moving parts,ensuring long service life.
This valve is widely used in industrial factories,power plants,commercial buildings,and environmental treatment facilities.It is ideal for dust extraction systems,flue gas regulation,HVAC zone control,and corrosive gas handling.Compared with electric valves,it has higher explosion-proof performance and faster response,making it the preferred choice for harsh industrial environments.
